UPDATE ON BACKERKIT AND TOOLING

Dear Backers,
Some of you have rightly pointed out that it is time for an update.
TOOLING
The tooling for the new sharpener was opened in early June and it is expected to complete around the 11th of August. Hence we are on schedule.
BACKERKIT
We have updated all products on backerkit and have some special offers. We have added the small magnetic wall rack, the Jet Black Galatine knife collection and our popular stainless steel BBQ turner / serving spade at fantastic prices if you add them to your pledge.
The backerkit page is currently undergoing quality control and we hope to send out the surveys this week. This means that you will receive a link from backerkit which has synced with your pledge on Kickstarter. Please let us know if you find any issues.
You will be able to update the address if you move. All that is done in backerkit so please remember your log in details.

MANUFACTURING FAULTS
We will make sure that all sharpeners are thoroughly tested before we ship them, but by experience it is inevitable to have some manufacturing faults. Please be reassured that if ever your sharpener turns out faulty we will offer you a free replacement.

QUESTIONS FROM BACKERS
We have had many comments and private messages from backers asking questions. We will use this update to share two of the most common questions:
WHAT ABOUT SERRATED KNIVES?
Yes, it will sharpen the top part of the serrations but not the groves. Your bread knife will definitely be sharper. However, the only way to get to the groves is by a manual conical file. There is no electric sharpener, that we know of, that sharpens the groves.
WILL IT SCRATCH MY BLADES?
No, the sides are made by plastic and are 5mm wide. When sharpening with an electric sharpener it is essential to move the knife slowly through the slots. As you are moving slowly there should be no scratches.
MAINTENANCE TIPS
This far we have not yet shared any maintenance tips. Below are some "never seen" pictures from the bottom of the sharpener. With time metal dust will build up from sharpening. Our design has two clever red plugs to help you hoover out any dust. As shown below, just remove the plug and hoover out any dust. This will make your sharpener last longer.
